An outlet hose must be fitted for correct operation of this product (see diagram). It should be smooth bore tubing installed over as short a distance as possible with no kinks or bends. If there is insufficient drop in height from the outlet pipe, or excessive bends or kinks, this will cause the filter to drain poorly, allowing the outlet chamber to fill above the maximum recommended level.
